Four Winds Farm Wedding | Morgan and Andrew

I first met with Morgan and Andrew just about a year ago! When I heard their plans for a Labor Day weekend wedding at a new venue, I knew immediately it was going to be a special day! Four Winds Farm is a working farm just south of Fitchburg, WI.

The wedding day started off at the couple’s home. Morgan had thoughtfully prepared a basket of her details for me to start photographing right away. The delicate pink in the bouquet was a theme that carried throughout the day! Sunborn Gardens did an incredible job on the florals!

Morgan even got matching pink pajamas for her bridesmaids! Pro tip: pajamas are so much more comfortable and practical over the matching robes!

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is just after the bride gets in her gown. This is the moment it really starts to sink in that the wedding day is finally here and it’s happening! Morgan had a beautiful support team in her mom and bridesmaids as she got ready for the day.

Over at the venue, my second photographer joined Andrew and the groomsmen as they finished pinning boutonnieres and waited for the rest of the wedding party to arrive.

Morgan and Andrew opted to share a first look with each other at the venue before the guests arrived. A soft rain had started falling but the couple decided to carry out their plan of meeting by the pond.

While a rainy wedding day isn’t necessarily what everyone dreams of, the overcast sky gave us a soft even glow that both complimented my subjects and allowed us to really take advantage of the incredible scenery and use the pond area. The green rolling fields made the perfect backdrop!

After the first look, we moved into wedding party photos and family portraits. The soft misty rain starting picking up as we finished the family photo list so it was time to make a dash for indoors!

One thing Morgan and Andrew had expressed to me during our consults prior to the wedding was their desire to still have light filled photos inside the barn. Barn venues can tend to be a bit on the darker side, but I was amazed when I stepped into the upstairs loft of Four Winds Farm! Windows line all four walls, and even though it was an overcast day, light poured in. Plus the beautiful light wood floors help reflect the light around even more. It truly was a dream for this light-loving photographer! We finished up the wedding party photos while waiting for the rain to subside.

The rain let up just in time for us to head back out for some bride and groom portraits!

As we finished up portraits, the ringbearers arrived. And not just any ringbearers- Corgi pup ring bearers! They might have tried to steal the show just a little!

And then it was time for the ceremony! A family member and friend of the couple officiated. We laughed, we cried, and I felt in my heart that Morgan and Andrew’s marriage was built on love, honor, and faith. Their family and friends showered them with support and it was such an honor to witness and capture their commitment.

One of the advantages of their first look and having portraits completed prior to the ceremony was that Morgan and Andrew were able to spend their cocktail hour fully present with their guests! Tricky foods prepared a delectable gazing table that was almost too pretty to eat but too mouth-watering not to! And the rain had blown past, allowing guests to enjoy drinks on the spacious outdoor patio.

During cocktail hour, the second floor of the barn was expertly flipped from ceremony to dinner reception space. Pasqual’s Cantina arrived and prepared a taco bar for dinner. If you’ve ever wondered “…do I want a taco bar at my wedding..?”, the answer is a resounding YES, and you definitely want Pasqual’s to cater it!!!

Another unique thing that Morgan and Andrew did was take a photo with each table as guests were dismissed to dinner. This allowed them to get a photo with each guest while not running to each table as is done in a traditional table dash. And since the guests came to them, I was able to control the lighting which definitely made my job easier! Win-win!

After dinner, we moved right into heartfelt toasts from the wedding party and parents!

And then it was time for dancing and dessert! Marcy and the Highlights kept the party flowing and the dance floor ALIVE all evening!

Due to the cloudy weather we didn’t get an opportunity for sunset portraits, so Morgan and Andrew opted for night photos under the globe lights! Night photos are always a bonus and I love the chance to get creative! What a perfect way to conclude the beginning of their forever! Congratulations- you two deserve all the happiness!
